Very hardy. Narrow, pyramidal form with ascending branches. Very large, heart-shaped, dark green foliage and white bark on young stems. Small, yellow-white, fragrant blooms in spring. Excellent shade tree choice for smaller sites. Prefers a moist, well-drained soil.
